Dugald Stermer, Ramparts (1966)
An object lesson in what naturally follows when a man receives a small printing press and some assorted type faces as a Christmas gift from his wife.
Sadly, Stermer, who was art director of the legendary Bay Area muckraking magazine Ramparts during its most influential period in the late sixties, passed away last week. Peter Richardson has a nice tribute over at truthdig.com and Robert Newman re-posted an interview with Stermer at spd.org
